School Development

The Children's Trust school's mission is to support children to live the best life possible achieving excellence in education, health, therapy and care (EHTC).

Our aim is to build a state of the art school building promoting innovative, researched best practises through visionary, integrated EHTC, which supports our vision of being a growth orientated, National Centre of Excellence for children and their families.

The school development plan interlinks with the broader organisational strategy and informs business planning.

The plan aims to be inclusive and ensure that all staff, parents / carers, Governors & Trustees have the opportunity to:

  • contribute their thoughts and ideas under proposed core headings.
  • say what they think may be missing or could be changed
  • to promote the learners voice and opinions on what is missing or could be changed

The Children’s Trust school evaluation and development planning process is an ongoing cycle requiring input from all key stakeholders.

Our future plans

Our School has been open since 1985; however, the physical space is limiting our ability to give children and their families the best care and education possible.

Under our new redevelopment plans, we plan to create a new state of the art Centre of Excellence at Tadworth Court which will integrate education, health, therapy and care for children and young people with brain injury and neurodisability.

A new building will enable better use of technology and therapies, create spaces specifically for families to be together, and utilise the restorative effects of nature to help children develop, learn, use their senses and, ultimately, just be children.

We are delighted to share the news that in March 2022 our plans for redevelopment were approved. We are now developing our designs and building the technical detail.
