Here you will find different sections, each containing a wide range of activities that can be accessed by families at home as well as learners staying on our residential School Houses.

The activities include everything from sensory art ideas to cooking and everything else in between. There are also helpful web links as well as useful App recommendations in the Parent/Carer Support section.

Sessions should be child-centred and can be as short or long as your young person wants, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes at a time.

In this section you will find a variety of different art activities. Some of the activities can get quite messy as art is a wonderful way of exploring using our sense of touch. Sensory art activities give our young people lots of opportunities to show what they like and what they don’t like.

Sensory stories pair spoken word with sensory stimuli and as a result, stories come alive for our young people. You will find a wide range of age appropriate stories in this section along with a list of alternative resources you can find at home.

Story massage

Here at The Children’s Trust School we have been lucky enough to receive training directly from the Story Massage Programme and as such, it is something that is used daily throughout our school. Story massage is a fun and interactive way to combine spoken word stories with positive touch, using 10 easy massage strokes and is suitable for people of all ages.
