Supercar success for the Trust
Crowds flocked to The Supercar Event, with over 6,000 visitors attending the two day charity event which was held at the famous Top Gear track. Generous drivers from Club Scuderia, Petrolhead Nirvana, Sporting Bears, Caterham Sevens and individual owners provided a unique experience of once-in-a-lifetime rides in their own supercars. Celebrity attendees included Big Brother star Craig Phillips, actor Scott Wright, presenter and compere Jason Holman, and television presenter Kaddy Lee-Preston, who enjoyed several laps around the track in a Caterham Seven. Supercar fanatics were able to enjoy a whole host of interactive experiences, including exhilarating passenger rides in Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Pagani Zondas, the amazing Koenigsegg Agera and the Lexus LFA. Visitors could also enjoy a spin in a Caterham Seven around a specially designed skidpan circuit and helicopter flights were also on offer. Diana De Moura Stewart, Special Projects Fundraiser, at The Children’s Trust said: “It was a fantastic weekend and we were thrilled with the turnout. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible - to the Supercar committee, the drivers for the generous contribution of their time, cars, petrol and skill to ensure that every supercar ride was memorable, the track marshals who worked hard to ensure safety for all, our supporter Lexus and finally to our 150 volunteers, without whom this event could not have happened.” Click here to see a list of some of our other events.
