What do you get when you bring two comedians together with the children and young people at The Children’s Trust? An afternoon to remember!

This week, we were delighted to welcome our ambassador, comedian and presenter Adam Hills MBE, back to Tadworth Court alongside fellow comedian Bec Hill. For the second year running, the pair put on a Comedy Special for the children and young people we support, their families and members of our team.

The day began with a mini "press conference", where some of our young people put their questions to Adam. It was followed by two comedy shows in the school hall, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of hilarious skits, boy band dancing and plenty of laughter.

Taking the hot seat

Before the shows, Adam faced questions from some of our young people, who hosted their very own mini "press conference" as part of their speech and language therapy.

Our budding reporters came prepared with a range of questions, asking Adam about the comedians who inspired him, where he gets his jokes and his experiences of disability. They also asked about memorable moments from his time on stage.
Adam shared stories from his life and career, and there were plenty of laughs along the way. The press conference was a chance for the young people to practise their communication skills, build confidence and learn more about Adam’s experiences as a comedian and of living with a prosthetic leg.

Let the shows begin!

It was then over to the school hall, where children, young people and their families gathered for two comedy shows.
Adam and Bec brought their humour and energy to the stage, keeping everyone entertained. Bec shared her creative flip-chart comedy, bringing her drawings to life alongside music. There was also a spot of boy band dancing, with some of our team members joining in!

The audience had a starring role too. Children and young people who needed support with communication could use special laugh and boo buttons to share their reactions with the comedians and join in the fun.
After the shows, Adam and Bec spent time meeting families, signing tickets and posing for photos, making the day even more special.

A huge thank you

Thank you, Adam and Bec, for spending the day with us and bringing so much laughter to The Children's Trust. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, and we know it’s a day the children, young people and their families will remember.
