The schools have broken up for the term, the sky is a beautiful shade of blue, and the familiar sounds of birds singing are all around us. It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer.

This July at The Children’s Trust is all about the Arts in Every Sense – a month dedicated to celebrating the role creativity plays across our work and the many ways art is experienced and expressed. From music, painting, dance and performance to sensory art explored through sight, sound, touch and movement, Arts in Every Sense celebrates the many ways every child can connect with creativity.

The Children’s Trust has received a new accessible minibus thanks to a generous gift from long‑standing volunteer Jim Bush, helping children with brain injury travel safely to hospital appointments and enjoy days out with their families.

Launa Randles, Headteacher of The Children’s Trust School and Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (QTVI), has been awarded a Tes award for Specialist Provision School Leader of the Year 2026, recognising her exceptional leadership and innovative work in sensory education.

From Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026, The Children’s Trust will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.

For Sally, volunteering at her local Children’s Trust charity shop gave her a renewed sense of purpose after facing a difficult period with long Covid. This year, that same drive pushed her across the finish line of the London Marathon, raising vital funds for children with brain injury.
