One donation, twice the impact
Donations to The Children’s Trust will be doubled from 12pm on Tuesday 2 December to 12pm on Tuesday 9 December 2025 via The Big Give Christmas Challenge.
Help us raise £90,000 in one week, which will be matched by generous supporters to become £180,000 to fund our vital neurotechnology equipment.
Life can change in an instant
Every year, 40,000 children in the UK experience a brain injury after an accident or illness, leaving some children without the ability to walk, stand, speak or play. They may no longer ride a bike, play or sing their favourite Christmas song, losing who they were becoming and families lose the child they knew. Christmas is a painful reminder of what’s changed. Joyful moments feel scarce. New neurotechnology transforms movement, helping children walk and play again.
Currently, there is nowhere in the UK that can offer all the life-changing equipment children need, and many are waiting weeks or even months to begin their rehabilitation. It’s a race against time for them and their families – the sooner a child can start therapy, the more chance they have to rebuild the skills they’ve lost. Your support will help make that happen.
Right now, children across the UK are waiting for this technology, waiting for the chance to walk, play and live more independently.
Please donate today to help families find Christmas with neurotechnology.
Teddie's story
We’ve already seen the life-changing impacts of neurotechnology in the children we support every day. When three-year-old Teddie was just nine days old, he had his first of many seizures. When he was six months old, he underwent major brain surgery. Afterwards, Teddie couldn’t sit up, crawl or use his right hand.
When he was 18 months old, he came to The Children’s Trust for rehabilitation. With support from our therapists and access to specialist equipment including the Innowalk – technology that helps children to stand and step – Teddie was able to practise stepping for the very first time in his young life.
Teddie's mum Laura explained:
“We wanted to get him taking steps, because he was trying to do a few movements at home, but it wasn’t really stepping. The Innowalk has helped him realise that he’s got to move his feet like that.”
“I’ve tried to find other places where we can use the Innowalk at home but nobody else has one. Using the Innowalk at The Children’s Trust has helped him take steps.”
Now, Teddie’s family are hopeful for the future. He’s making progress towards talking by babbling and signing
Help families find Christmas with neurotechnology
We need help to make sure other children like Teddie can achieve their goals too. Neurotechnology is much more than equipment. It has the power to help children rebuild their lives – and their futures – after brain injury. This Christmas, help more children regain the skills and confidence they need to live their best lives – and help give them the brighter future they deserve.
For one week only, your donation to The Children’s Trust through the Big Give will be doubled.
