Take part in our ‘Dress to impress for less’ competition this January, with great prizes up for grabs.

Laura Hamilton, presenter of A Place in the Sun (Channel 4) and supporter of The Children’s Trust, has launched our first Dress to impress for less charity shop competition to kick start the new year in style.

What is ‘Dress to impress for less’?

For two weeks only, from Monday 15 January – Monday 29 January 2024, anyone visiting one of our charity shops in Surrey and Kent will be challenged to reinvigorate their shopping habits – and their wardrobes! – by putting together an outfit from a treasure trove of pre-loved items.

Shoppers will get 10% off their purchases by mentioning Dress to impress for less at the till. They will then be encouraged to share a photo of their creation on Instagram, tagging @childrens_trust, to be entered into the competition.

A good luck message from Laura

Ahead of the competition launch, Laura Hamilton had these words of encouragement for everyone taking part.

I’m delighted to be launching The Children’s Trust’s ‘Dress to impress for less’ competition this January. I love shopping in charity shops – everything you buy has had its own life before it even catches your eye, and then you get to create your own exciting memories with it. What’s more, you get to support a brilliant cause while giving your wardrobe a sustainable refresh.

The Children’s Trust is very close to my heart. The level of care the charity provides for children with brain injury and neurodisability is inspiring. I love that by shopping in their charity shops I get to support these children and their families when they need it most. Good luck everyone, I can’t wait to see what gems you discover!

We’re excited to kick start the new year with our very first ‘Dress to impress for less’ challenge with the incredible Laura Hamilton. We can’t wait to welcome people from our local communities – and beyond – into our shops for a memorable shopping experience, outfit inspiration from our treasure

trove of clothes and accessories and the chance to win great prizes. Every purchase will also make a big difference to the children and families we support. Good luck everyone and happy shopping!
