This July at The Children’s Trust is all about the Arts in Every Sense – a month dedicated to celebrating the role creativity plays across our work and the many ways art is experienced and expressed. From music, painting, dance and performance to sensory art explored through sight, sound, touch and movement, Arts in Every Sense celebrates the many ways every child can connect with creativity.

Art can show up in more ways than you might expect at The Children’s Trust.

Here, art isn't simply something to hang on a wall or watch from the sidelines – it’s an integral part of children’s learning, communication, therapy, and the ability to express who they are.

It's in the rhythm of a familiar song during therapy, the splash of colour across a page when words are hard to find, the confidence built through performance and play, and the moments of connection that creativity can inspire.

That’s why July at The Children’s Trust is all about the Arts in Every Sense – a month dedicated to celebrating the role creativity plays across our work and the many ways art is experienced and expressed. From music, painting, dance and performance to sensory art explored through sight, sound, touch and movement, Arts in Every Sense celebrates the many ways every child can connect with creativity.

Throughout the month, we'll share stories from our colourful Art Festival and much-loved Circus Fun Day alongside the everyday moments of creativity that happen in our classrooms, homes and therapy spaces, celebrating the power of art in all its forms.

The Children’s Trust Art Festival:

Our annual Art Festival on the 9 and 10 of July will bring this month's theme to life with all the colour, excitement and imagination of the circus.

Throughout the festival, children and young people will enjoy a variety of creative experiences inspired by this year's circus theme. From carnival games and sensory circus spaces to drama performances, mask-making workshops and music-led sessions, every activity is designed to encourage self-expression in a way that works for every child and young person.

Whether they're creating a colourful masterpiece, taking centre stage in a performance or simply enjoying the sights, sounds and atmosphere, the festival is a chance for every child to experience the joy of creativity in their own way.

Circus Fun Day

On Saturday 11 July, our much-loved Circus Fun Day will return and transform The Children's Trust into a vibrant celebration for children, families, supporters and the local community.

With incredible circus performances, live entertainment, interactive activities, games and plenty of activities to get involved in, it promises to be a day packed with laughter, creativity and unforgettable memories.

Circus Fun Day celebrates the importance of play, imagination and togetherness, while helping raise vital funds to support children and young people with brain injury and neurodisability, and everyone is welcome.

So come join us. Whether trying your hand at a circus skill, enjoying the live entertainment or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrating creativity every day

While July gives us the opportunity to celebrate art in a special way, creativity is something we build into everyday life here at The Children’s Trust.

Art, music, movement and play help children and young people discover new strengths, build confidence and express who they are. Creativity inspires moments of joy, supports rehabilitation and reminds us that there are many different ways to communicate and connect - because art isn't just something we make. It's something we experience, share and celebrate - in every sense.
