Today, we proudly join organisations across the country in celebrating Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) Day.

This national event, developed by the #AHPCommunity, brings together AHPs from across the health and care sector to connect, share their impact, and celebrate the vital role they play in helping people live healthier, more independent lives.

At The Children’s Trust, AHPs are at the heart of everything we do. They support children and young people with brain injury to work towards their rehabilitation goals or reach their potential in school, through specialist therapies, rehabilitation, education and family support. Their compassion, creativity and skill make a difference every single day.

The Theme for 2025: “The Three Shifts”

This year’s AHPs Day theme focuses on the Three Shifts shaping the future of healthcare:

  1. Hospital to community: supporting care closer to home, reducing hospital admissions, and promoting independence.
  2. Treatment to prevention: focusing on early intervention and long-term wellbeing.
  3. Analogue to digital: using technology and innovation to enhance care and improve patient experience.

These priorities reflect not only national healthcare ambitions but also part of our work here at The Children’s Trust, where we are embracing community-based rehabilitation and exploring new ways digital tools, including AI, can enhance clinical practice and support recovery.

Our teams will be sharing their expertise with colleagues at The Children’s Trust , highlighting the innovative work taking place across our services. Sessions include the Community Rehabilitation Team discussing fatigue management, and our Occupational Therapy Team exploring how AI is being used in neurorehabilitation practice.

Celebrating at The Children’s Trust

Here at The Children’s Trust, we’re marking the day with a week of activities that celebrate the dedication of all our AHPs, Psychologists, Health Play Specialists, Activities & Leisure Lead, Leisure Coordinators, MDT Technicians and administrative teams.

Throughout the week, staff are coming together to reflect, reconnect and celebrate their shared achievements. Celebrations will include wellness activities, music, meditation and team games.
