Linden Donates £44,000 to The Children's Trust

Linden Homes made a substantial donation to the Tadworth based charity The Children’s Trust this week, providing a much needed cash injection for the construction of a new £7million rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain injuries. A cheque for £44,000 was presented to the Trust’s Chairman, Sir Brian Hill by Managing Director of Linden Homes, Paul Cooper, as part of a long-standing relationship between the Surrey based housebuilder and its preferred charity. The Children’s Trust is a national charity providing care, treatment and education for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs for the past 20 years. The funds will go towards a new two-storey national rehabilitation centre within the 24 acre grounds of the Trust. The unit is home to the Trust’s ventilator-dependent children, whilst operating as a state-of-the-art hospital, providing the on-hand care and treatment that they require. The new centre will also incorporate a number of apartments, providing families with a place to stay when visiting their children. Every year, an estimated 20,000 children in the UK will acquire a brain injury, and the new centre will be fully equipped to expand the service offered by the Trust and provide care for an increased number of children. Sir Brian Hill, Chairman of The Children’s Trust, commented: “We have had an excellent relationship with Linden now for many years. Thanks to another remarkable donation and the work of some extraordinary individuals, this donation will go a long way towards providing specialist care to more children with acquired brain injuries and their families in a new purpose-designed building.” Paul Cooper, Managing Director of Linden Homes South East said: “It’s great to have been able to come down and witness the wonderful work being done at The Children’s Trust. So much has already been achieved here and we are delighted to be able to contribute to its future. These children deserve the best possible care and the new unit goes a long way towards ensuring this is available.”
