Nursing is a key component of the rehabilitation package, as children can only benefit from their programme if their pain management, nutrition, sleeping pattern, emotional status and numerous other care needs are optimised.

Ayesha said: “There are many aspects of my job that I love. Firstly, I really enjoy looking after the children and seeing their transition from the time they arrive at The Children’s Trust to the time they leave to return home. Many arrive unable to walk, talk or eat independently.

“It is wonderful to be part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team to help these children regain their life skills and see them make the best recovery possible. It is a very rewarding job.

“All the people I work with in the team are very friendly, supportive and approachable; including my manager who is a great boss! The Children’s Trust is very much a family orientated charity that provides a home-from-home environment in a beautiful setting, which makes it a wonderful place for the children – and for the staff.

“The ongoing training I receive is amazing. Nurses and Care Assistants have regular opportunities to attend courses and workshops to keep their skills up-to-date. The career progression is excellent and I’m looking forward to working with the charity for many years to come.”
