This is a practical, evidence‑based course equipping you with core skills in paediatric neurorehabilitation and family‑centred care for children with acquired brain injury.
Course learning objectives
Equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of neurorehabilitation models, paediatric acquired brain injury (ABI) fundamentals, and evidence-based intervention approaches, supporting improved clinical decision-making and outcomes for children and young people
Support learning through interactive workshops addressing neurotechnology, The Children’s Trust published upper limb pathway for paediatric neurorehabilitation, complex communication interventions, and psychosocial strategies, enabling integrated and holistic care for children and young people with acquired brain injury.
Develop skills in implementing family-focused frameworks, including personalised goal-setting approaches (e.g. application of my Favourite-words ©), and applying everyday rehabilitation principles within home and community environments
Present evidence of outcomes from rehabilitation placements at The Children’s Trust, including the impact of provision on children and young people, supported by lived experience contributions
This specialist training is open to Allied Health Professionals (AHP) and psychology colleagues working in a rehabilitation setting.
