Rockstar Detectives is the story of two children Charley and George, who are described as ‘a young detective dream team’. While the team try and solve baffling crimes, they are also prime suspects for all the wrong reasons!

The book has been described as ‘fast-paced fun’ with one Amazon reviewer saying: “Rockstar Detectives is a wonderful adventure. This is a story for children who love adventure and music. What makes Adam's characters stand out is that a person with a disability is one of the main characters. It is lovely to see diverse characters.”

Speaking to Virgin Radio, author Adam Hills MBE explained 'how important it was to show how a disability could be seen as nothing but an advantage in life' and this is shown by the character George.

He said: “You have to look at life slightly differently…His wheelchair is an advantage because he looks at life from a different angle, he sees clues nobody else sees. He wants to be a comedian so again looking at life in a different angle makes you see things other people don't see.”

Adam is an internationally recognised comedian and host of award-winning Channel 4 series The Last Leg. Adam first became involved with The Children’s Trust when he visited the charity in 2014 to meet Seb, a nine-year-old boy who had a severe brain injury and leg amputation following a road traffic accident.

Adam has supported The Children’s Trust since his first visit and officially became an Ambassador in 2020. Earlier, this week he hosted The Children’s Trust Chortle, the charity’s comedy night in London where he helped to raise over £8,500!

He has also visited the charity with fellow comedians to put on a show for the children with brain injury and neurodisability and their families.
