Therapies (AHP & psychology roles)

We are proud of our multi-disciplinary therapy team, who work holistically with children and young people and their families alongside our colleagues in care, nursing, and education.

Find the right role for you

Thank you for considering a therapy role at the Children’s Trust.

As part of our dynamic and forward-thinking therapies team, you will have the opportunity to deliver multidisciplinary, goal-directed, evidence-based therapy provision with small caseloads. This is a chance to develop your skills where you will provide an outstanding service to the children, young people, and families we support.

Our team at Tadworth provides:

  • Neurorehabilitation following an acquired brain injury
  • Step-down services for children with complex health needs from hospital to home
  • Short break placements
  • Therapy provision to our children accessing the Children’s Trust School. This includes day and residential placements for children and young people with complex education, health, therapy, and care needs

We have a Community Rehabilitation Service which offers specialist clinical support and rehabilitation to children and their families across the UK. We support children as they transition from an inpatient stay back to their home and school environments.

Our community offer includes:

  • Community rehabilitation packages (offering Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Psychology)
  • Specialist assessment packages (interdisciplinary or single discipline assessment)
  • Therapy Outpatient packages
  • Nationwide digital ABI service

Our therapy model adopted in our residential school provides therapy at universal, targeted, and specialist levels, including supporting training to care staff in postural care, dysphagia, and supporting participation.

Our therapy team has access to work towards goals of disability management or rehabilitation. We have an on-site aquatic therapy pool, robotics including DIEGO robotics arm therapy system, Innowalk dynamic standers, drive deck powered mobility platforms, a trampoline for rebound therapy, soft play, and sensory rooms.

We have weekly on-site Orthotics clinics and therapists with specialist skills in casting and upper limb splint fabrication.

You will be offered regular supervision and support and we value continuous professional development and service improvement opportunities. As an organisation, we support therapy apprenticeship and student placements.

Our ambition is for all children with brain injury and neurodisability to have the opportunity to live the best life possible. This is a great opportunity to develop a career where you will make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of children and families.
