Gift Aid on donated goods

Gift Aid your donation to make it go even further

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can increase the value of your donated goods. Simply complete our Gift Aid form in one of our shops.

Last financial year an additional £100,000 was raised at no cost to the donors so help us make more from your donations. Sign up today and join us to support more children with brain injury.

Gift Aid is a tax efficient form of giving which adds approximately 25% to the value of ‘gifts’ to charities and has traditionally been restricted to cash donations. Our shop teams will support you in raising more than before from the same items.

Adding value to our work

Download and complete the Gift Aid form on the right hand side of the page and put it in your bag of donations when you deliver them to your local Children's Trust shop

You are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

We post out letters at least 3 times each year to let you know how much money your items have raised so if your details or circumstances change then email us so that we can keep our records up to date.

By signing up to Gift Aid for your donated goods, you will confirm that:

You are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

You wish The Children’s Trust to act as your agent in selling the goods you have brought into the shop. (An administration charge of 2% +VAT will be applied).

You wish The Children’s Trust to claim tax on all donations you have made 4 years prior to this date and from this date forward for all donations until you notify us otherwise.

You are not acting as a business in bringing goods in for sale to any of the shops belonging to The Children’s Trust.

Any goods which cannot be sold will be recycled and cannot be returned to the donor. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time.
