Inspire August 2020

Welcome to inspire online. Take a read through the recent news from The Children’s Trust.

Lots of things have changed over the last five months, and we’re helping children adapt to the new normal. Keeping everyone safe is a priority, but having fun is important too.

Throughout the summer children have been spending time outside We’ve been making the most of our spacious grounds, with camping trips, water fights, all the things children love doing. Fun and games help children with their rehabilitation, as you’ll read in the feature about our specialist approach, and how children can make incredible progress.

But we are also looking to the future and are delighted to share our new strategy for 2020-2025. It explains how we want to help every child with brain injury and neurodisability, by expanding our work at Tadworth and right across the UK.

Thank you so much for being here for us, we truly appreciate your support.

Elaine Paige OBE, our ambassador for almost 40 years, has recorded a special charity single, a cover of ‘Sing a Rainbow’, in support of The Children’s Trust.

"I have recorded the song with the children on video call and mobile phones, which has been great fun! I am very proud to have been able to record this song for a charity I love while in lockdown." Said Ellaine.

"The children have severe disabilities and complex needs. They worked really hard to learn the song and to pronounce the words clearly. It was great fun learning the signs and drawing rainbows. As well as having a good time, it helped with their rehabilitation too."
