Redhill company raises £17,000

Based in Redhill, Surrey, Aquila is a leading supplier of pension administration software solutions. They adopted The Children's Trust, the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury, as their charity partner with the aim of raising a vital £25,000 by April 2015. Numerous fundraising activities have been undertaken since the start of the partnership with their most recent festive fundraising bringing them to a total of £17,000 so far. The funds raised by aquila will allow The Children's Trust to purchase vital physiotherapy and occupational therapy equipment that will make a huge difference to the lives of children with brain injury giving them as much independence as possible. Staff at aquila have been getting heavily involved in the fundraising. One staff member is undertaking the challenge of running nine marathons over seven months, he has raised over £3000 so far. Other activities have included staff taking part in numerous events organised by The Children's Trust such as the London to Canterbury bike ride and the Twilight walk, dress down days and other regular organised events. Head of Fundraising, Jonathan Wileman at aquila said "We have had great fun raising money for The Children's Trust; it has really brought us together as a team. And it's fantastic to know that the money we have raised is helping children with brain injury in their recovery." During the festive season they held an extremely successful auction and raffle raising over £1500, as well as some generous donations from local businesses. These include Hartsfield Manor (Betchworth), Epsom Audi, The Arkle Manor (Reigate), Toni & Guy Hairdressing (Guildford), Lingfield Racecourse, Reigate Dance Studio, Donyngs Leisure Centre (Redhill), Frankie and Benny's (Kingston), Harlequin Theatre (Redhill), The Black Horse 'Time Well Spent' (Reigate), West Central (Redhill), JK Nails and Beauty (Redhill), Urban Kitchen (Reigate), Abel and Cole, Sanrizz Salons (Guildford/Knightsbridge), Rose Theatre (Kingston) and Art of Living (Reigate). Jane Shufflebotham, Fundraising Executive at the Children's Trust said: "I am so delighted with how well aquila have been doing and how committed they are to their fundraising efforts. The funds that they raise are vital for us to be able to purchase specialist equipment to enable a child to have as much independence, safety and comfort as possible.
