Purley charity shop celebrates £100,000 sales
Staff and volunteers at The Children’s Trust’s charity shop in Purley are celebrating the shop’s success in achieving a sales income over the last year of £100,000. The Trust’s shop in Brighton Road, which has been opened for just under 18 months and is now one of the Trust’s nine charity shops based in locations in Surrey and Kent, is the first to have raised this amount. Collectively the outlets raise over £500,000 each year. Liz Nazareth, manager at The Children’s Trust’s Purley shop said: “We are all absolutely thrilled with the news and I would like to thank our hard-working staff and the terrific team of volunteers who help in the shop. We are also very grateful for the fantastic support that we receive from the Purley community – either through donating items, or visiting the shop to make purchases, including tickets for the Trust’s weekly lottery.” If you would like to donate good quality items, including clothes, toys, CDs, DVDs, videos, bric-a-brac, fashion accessories or kitchenware, please find more information here. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm. All money raised from the charity shops help to enhance the lives of the children who receive care at The Children’s Trust. The current Fundraising Appeal aims to raise over £7 million to build a new, purpose-designed rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain injuries.
