Professional Showcase

  • The Children’s Trust provides neurorehabilitation for children with acquired brain injury. Every year we support thousands of children across the UK through our residential rehabilitation service, brain injury community services and brain injury hub. Now is your chance to visit our national specialist centre in Tadworth, Surrey, meet our team, and find out more. We warmly welcome medical, allied health or nursing professionals interested in knowing more about the rehabilitation, medical care and range of therapies we offer. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about the step down pathway we provide to enable technology-dependent children to move from hospital to home.
  • Our professional showcase offers you the chance to learn more about The Children’s Trust and provides an insight into the work we do here. The day will feature talks from a variety of therapists. Firstly, there will be an overview of The Children’s Trust by Director of Clinical Services, Maggie Clancy.  Maggie will set the scene for how we work – giving an overview of our history and current structure, as well as our strategy, funding and outcome measurements. Following a specific child’s journey from referral, admission and initial assessment all the way through to discharge, you’ll hear from Physiotherapist, Gemma Kelly and Occupational Therapist, Helle Mills as they present on specialised rehabilitation. Speech and Language Therapist, Becky O’Mahoney and Lead Nurse for Tracheostomy and LTV Care, Eleanor Bazely will present on rehabilitation and support of technology dependent children.  Their presentation will focus on a child’s journey from pre-admission through to discharge, documenting their progress and the use of goal setting. There will also be the opportunity to hear from a parent of one of the children that we care for. This provides a valuable insight into a family’s journey and their own experiences of The Children’s Trust. The showcase will finish with a short tour of our centre and grounds which house our residential rehabilitation service, The Children’s Trust School, and the hydrotherapy pool.
