When Richard Fauvet, our Transport Manager, discovered he’d won a spray tan in a raffle we are sure he didn’t know what was coming next!
When Richard, our Transport Manager, won a spray tan at a raffle it was of course a great laugh imagining him getting his cap on and coming in with a golden glow. Little did we know he was not only planning in on coming in with a glow but he was planning on getting it done here at The Children’s Trust as a fundraising event!
Working in the Transport department which gets Children to appointments, home and to trips out along with much more, Richard knows how important fundraising is to continue these vital services. With this in mind, he set a challenge – ‘Help Richard Turn Orange’. Every £50 raised, Richard would go a ‘grade’ darker with his tan. £500.00 was the darkest grade and Richard reluctantly agreed he would go this colour if it was raised (it’s usually only used for Strictly Come Dancing style tans…).
Before we knew it Richard was well on his way to £1,000 and there was no going back. The tanning event took place here at The Children’s Trust with swarms of staff coming along to watch. As if the tanning wasn’t enough, Richard even put on a dance show to fit with the Strictly tan which other members of staff got involved with – lots of laughs were had by all.
We would like to thank Richard for all of the effort he put into this fundraising event and for being such a great sport! It just shows that you really can turn about anything into a fundraiser if you make it fun enough!
