Our New Play Room

Jane Shufflebotham

When Ruby’s Rooms Interiors got in touch with us offering to transform a room with their unique and tailored approach earlier this year, we jumped at the opportunity. The play room in Maple House had been looking quite tired for some time (see pictures) and we thought that Leon, the artist behind Ruby’s Rooms, would be perfect to bring it to life.    With the help of Abi House Manager of Maple, Leon set on planning how the room would look. “We decided that a jungle theme would be perfect for the room, we have lots of cheeky monkeys who will fit in perfectly! We decided the different colours and animals that could be included in the room would also be great for encouraging the children to step out of their comfort zone when playing,” said Abi. After lots of planning, sourcing of materials (thank you to Sanderson paints for the donation of paints), and painting, the room was revealed.   Leon said after creating the room: “It was an absolute pleasure for Ruby's Rooms Interiors to transform the playroom at The Children's Trust. The children there are so brave so it was lovely to be able to give something back. I hope that they love their jungle themed room as much as I enjoyed creating it!”    “We are so so grateful for the time Leon has dedicated to creating such a wonderful, visual playroom for the children on Maple House. We showed it to one of the children yesterday and his eyes lit up when he saw it. We know the room will bring joy to so many of the children we care for. Thank you.” - Abi. We are yet to have the floor and blinds fitted… so watch this space to see the finished room in the Summer! To find out more about Ruby’s Rooms visit their website www.rubysrooms.co.uk
