The Children’s Trust announces national paediatric conference 2018 The Rubik’s Cube of Childhood Brain Injury

The Rubik’s Cube of Childhood Brain Injury is the second paediatric conference hosted by The Children’s Trust. Taking place on 20 June 2018 at The Royal Society of Medicine in London, the event will look at the complexities, connections and challenges of acquired brain injury in children and young people. Hosted by Dr Anna Maw, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, the conference will be an opportunity to listen and network with expert clinical professionals, including consultants, doctors, surgeons, nurses, therapists and medico-legal individuals, to explore how best to rehabilitate children and young people with acquired brain injury. Speakers include international neuroscientist, clinician and author, Dr Lucia Braga, The SARAH Network; Mr Simon Stapleton, Consultant Neurosurgeon, St. George’s Hospital; Dr Vijeya Ganesan, Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Neurology and Honorary Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and many more. Professor Gareth Morgan, Medical Director and Consultant Paediatrician, The Children’s Trust, said: “Acquired brain injury is a complex issue, so the Rubik’s Cube is a fitting analogy. The day will bring together evidence-based interventions, neurosurgical aspects of childhood brain injury and real-life stories, so that professionals working in this field can discuss challenges and best practice. “It’s set to be a great conference, a highlight in the paediatric conferencing calendar for 2018 and one not to be missed.” Tickets are available on an early bird rate of £175 when booked by 30 January 2018, or £199 thereafter. A number of subsidised places are available for charities and students.
