A mouth-watering challenge!

Shoppers from a small village gathered together to watch a doughnut eating competition in which local businesses were taking part. To celebrate National Doughnut week, four teams from Bookham, Surrey tucked into towers of doughnuts on May 3 to see who could eat the most. The fun event was organised by Anouska Lewis, owner of Scoffers Deli, where the competition took place. It culminated with a tie-break between Anoushka and Rob Maskell from Stonegate Homes. Scoffers were crowned the winner, when Anoushka polished off her iced doughnut the quickest. She said: "The event was great! We all really enjoyed ourselves and loved how everyone rose to the challenge. Although I’m pretty sure we won’t be eating too many doughnuts any time soon!" Hanshaws Estate Agents and The Co-operative also took part in the challenge. The businesses raised over £150 through sponsorship. » Click here to find out more about National Doughnut Week
