Jenni Falconer announced as new celebrity ambassador

TV and Heart radio presenter Jenni Falconer was today (15 January) named as Ambassador of The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. Jenni will kick off her ambassadorial duties by taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London later this year. Jenni has been involved with the charity since 2009 and during this time has made several trips to the National Specialist Centre in Tadworth. Here, she has seen for herself the life-changing work undertaken by staff to help children and young people with brain injury relearn skills they have lost. Additionally, Jenni has helped the charity to raise thousands of pounds for treatment and equipment by running two London Marathons in 2009 and 2014 and has hosted several fundraising events. Commenting on her appointment, Jenni said: “It is my great pleasure to become a charity ambassador for The Children’s Trust and I was delighted to be asked. I’ve been lucky enough to visit the centre in Tadworth and have seen the great care, expertise and attention shown to the children and young people undergoing rehabilitation. But I was also touched by the warm support the staff offer to the families and siblings at such a very worrying time." “I look forward to strengthening my ties with this very special charity and finding out more about the invaluable work they do with the children and their families. I feel very proud to be involved.” Dalton Leong, Chief Executive of The Children’s Trust said: “Jenni has long been a passionate advocate and has always shown huge enthusiasm for our work. We are delighted to have her on board. She will be supporting our work to raise awareness of brain injury and helping to make a difference to thousands of children each year.” The Children’s Trust celebrity ambassadors also include: David Walliams OBE, Joely Richardson, Elaine Paige OBE, Nicholas Owen, and Phil Tufnell.
