Jadae was just seven years old when she was involved in a serious road accident that left her unable to move or communicate. After three months in hospital, she was medically stable to be moved to The Children’s Trust for specialist rehabilitation to re-learn all the skills she had lost. Music, fun and play were her motivators and staff ensured these played an integral part of her therapy.Jadae’s mum, Caroline explained, "Singing helped Jadae with her breathing and this in turn, helped with her speech but above all, it lifted her spirits. At The Children’s Trust, she was making great progress and one day I asked her if she could say my name and she did! I was crying with happiness by hearing her say Caroline.” “Music helped my daughter focus on what she could do rather than what she couldn’t – it was an incredible motivator for her. When she returned home, she continued the singing, holding herself up and made great progress towards walking independently once again. I’m so grateful to all the staff at The Children’s Trust for the support and expertise in helping my daughter get better.”
