Since 1981, hundreds of thousands of people have run the 26.2 mile London Marathon route, passing some of London's most iconic landmarks with cheers from the most supportive of crowds helping them around the course. And you can be there in 2024!

The Children's Trust have guaranteed places available on our team and we're giving a warm welcome to any runners successful in the ballot!

By running for us, you will receive:
•    Our very own Children's Trust branded running vest or t-shirt
•    Materials to inspire you and support your fundraising
•    On the day cheering, sports massage and refreshments

Registration Fee: £100

Sponsorship target: £2000

Own place runners, join us! If you manage to secure your own place in the run, we would love to have you in our team! There is no minimum sponsorship, and you will still receive the same benefits as the rest of our Squad.

Filming and Photography

Filming and photography will be taken on the day to support future promotion of The Children's Trust events, for example via the media, social media, digital channels and printed materials. If you would prefer for your images or footage to not be included, please inform a staff member on the day or email us at pressoffice@thechildrenstrust.org.uk

TCS London Marathon 2024 – general terms and conditions of participation 
 
Firstly, thank you for your interest in supporting The Children's Trust by joining our London Marathon Squad. The London Marathon is a popular and important fundraising event for The Children's Trust. 
 
The following terms and conditions have been written to support you and to set out the expectations of the charity and our commitment to you should you be awarded a place. 
 
If you are successful in gaining a Golden Bond place with The Children's Trust: 
•    You will pay a £100 registration fee within 10 days of being offered a Golden Bond place with The Children's Trust. If the registration fee is not paid by day 11, The Children's Trust reserves the right to release your place to the next potential runner, unless agreed otherwise and in writing. 
•    You acknowledge that the registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be used to towards your fundraising target.
•    You agree to raise at least the minimum sponsorship requirement (£2000) and will send all sponsorship funds no later than six weeks after the event. Gift Aid donations do not count towards the minimum sponsorship requirement.
•    You will commit to raising 50% of the minimum sponsorship by 14 February 2024 
•    You understand that The Children's Trust has the right to withdraw your place at any time with due warning if they consider that you are not committed to your pledged sponsorship 
•    If you fail to raise the £2000 fundraising pledge with no prior arrangement or exception, The Children's Trust can inform London Marathon Events (the organiser) and it may impact your chances of running in future London Marathon Events.  If you do not take part in the event, any sponsorship money raised will be treated as donations unless your sponsors contact The Children's Trust directly for a refund.
•    You will be at least 18 years old on race day (21 April 2024) 
•    You agree to the terms and conditions set out by London Marathon Events.
•    You will register your name and personal details with London Marathon Events separately. Details of how to do this and the deadline for doing so will be communicated with you by the charity. You will be unable to take part without completing this registration by the deadline. The deadline is governed by London Marathon Events and no extensions are awarded under any circumstances. 
•    You are taking part in this event at your own risk. 
•    You confirm that, as far as you are aware, you are fit and healthy enough to take part in this event. 
•    You will notify us if your circumstances change and you are unable to run. Please do this at your earliest opportunity as we may be able to offer your place to another potential runner (if you notify us before the London Marathon deadline for entries).  
•    You accept that The Children’s Trust accepts no liability in connection with your participation in the event when it comes to any loss or damage of any kind including to you or your belongings. However, this excludes any liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. 
•    For any independent fundraising events that you carry out to raise funds (for example a cake sale or pub quiz), you acknowledge that you are carrying such events out in your own capacity. It is your responsibility to organise all aspects of such event and make it clear that such event is run by you "in aid of" The Children's Trust and is not run by the charity. The Children's Trust will not accept any responsibility or liability for such event. If you wish to use The Children’s Trust logo, please contact the Events team who can provide an "in aid of" logo.
•    You agree to raise all money using legal methods and complying with the advice given in the in the How to Fundraise section of our website. 
•    You understand that any photos, quotes or video footage taken of you during the event may be used on social media, future marketing and publicity material and other mediums that may raise awareness of The Children’s Trust. If you would prefer us not to use this material, please contact us directly.

Your privacy is important to us. We’ll always keep your data secure and will never share it with other organisations for their marketing purposes. We may use it for analysis to send you relevant information.
