Our fundraisers visit homes in selected areas of the UK to raise awareness of The Children's Trust and generate vital regular income. If you are visited by one of our representatives, they will give you a short presentation about the work of The Children's Trust, before asking you to support us by setting up a Direct Debit every month. Why does The Children's Trust use door to door fundraisers? A visit in person is the best way to explain the various ways in which The Children's Trust supports children with acquired brain injuries. It also gives us the opportunity to answer any questions you may have immediately. Door to door fundraising is also one of our most cost-effective methods of fundraising, and helps us to secure long term income on which The Children's Trust relies. How do I know if a fundraiser is genuine? All of our representatives wear polo shirts or jackets bearing The Children's Trust logo and carry an ID badge showing our logo, their name and photo, their reference number and our registered charity number. If you have any doubts about a fundraiser please call us on 01737 364 349 with their reference number, and we will be able to check that they are genuine. Where are you currently fundraising? Currently we do not have any active campaigns When do your fundraisers visit? Our representatives are legally allowed to fundraise from 9am until 9pm seven days a week, and are most likely to visit after 11.30am and before 9.00pm.  How do I stop fundraisers from visiting? Fundraisers must not visit homes that display a No Cold Calling sticker. These can be obtained, usually free of charge, from your local council. Do fundraisers ask for cash? No. Our fundraisers are not legally allowed to ask for a cash or cheque donation at the door, they are only allowed to accept donations through Direct Debit. If a fundraiser asks you for cash, they may not be genuine so please call us on 01737 364 349 to let us know. Direct Debits are one of the most effective ways of giving to charity. It reduces administration costs and generates a steady and reliable stream of income, allowing us to plan for the future. How can I make a single donation? If you were impressed by our fundraiser but are not able to commit to a monthly donation, you may like to support us with a one-off gift. You can donate online, call us on 01737 364 349 or send a cheque to The Children's Trust, Tadworth Court, Tadworth, Surrey KT20 5RU. When does the campaign finish? We do not currently have any active campaigns. Is your door to door fundraising regulated? The Children's Trust is a voluntary member of the PFRA and Institute of Fundraising (IoF). We follow the Fundraising Code of Practice and associated rulebooks, enforced by the Fundraising Regulator. We are currently transferring our membership from the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) to the Fundraising Regulator which launched on 7 July 2016. The Children’s Trust considers the targeting of vulnerable people entirely unacceptable. All fundraisers must adhere to strict Public Fundraising Association (PFRA) guidelines not to approach anyone considered vulnerable. How do I tell you about a visit I received?
