Charity ball success

A charity ball, held at London's Underglobe, (12 February 2015), has raised £28,000 for The Children's Trust, the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury. Popular stand-up comedian, Tim Vine and television and radio presenter, Nicholas Owen, took part in the special event. Nicholas Owen hosted the evening, with Tim Vine delivering his renowned one-liners during a special diamond draw. Television's antiques expert, Charlie Ross, also provided humour for the 148-strong audience during an entertaining live auction. Mark Smith, whose son Ryan, received rehabilitation for a brain injury at The Children's Trust, spoke movingly about his teenage son's accident and his time at the charity's specialist centre in Surrey, where Ryan made remarkable progress before returning to his specially adapted home in September last year.
