Our yellow submarine!
What better way to make a splash at this year's Flora London Marathon than with a 15ft yellow submarine? Find out how you can help The Children's Trust by sponsoring our sub...
You can help our intrepid submarine running team raise over £50,000 for The Children's Trust by sponsoring them to compete the Flora London Marathon on 26th April.
The submarine is the latest charity challenge for Lloyd Scott, best remembered by many as the man who completed the 2002 marathon dressed in a deep-sea diving suit. This time he will be joined by GMTV presenter Priya Kaur-Jones and two Beatle fans from Dunbar Bank, all dressed in 'Sgt Pepper's' uniforms.
Priya presents GMTV’s early news bulletins and travel programmes and had no hesitation in joining up as ‘Beatle Paul’ to run with Lloyd. The four runners collectively aim to raise over £50,000 for The Children’s Trust.
Lloyd, who will be running as ‘John’, said: “I was thrilled when Priya agreed to join the yellow submarine team and, with a little help from my friends Nigel and Len who are running as ‘George’ and ‘Ringo’, we all intend to make a big splash to ensure it is a successful and memorable event for The Children’s Trust. We aim to raise as much cash as we can and raise a smile in doing so.”
Priya added: ”It has been a long-held ambition of mine to run in the marathon and I am very excited at the prospect of taking part in the yellow submarine team. The Children’s Trust provides some of the best possible care for children with severe disabilities and I hope, as well as raising money, I will also be helping to raise awareness of the charity’s marvellous work.”
