Conference focuses on pupils with PMLD

St Margaret’s School, one of the only schools in the UK to work exclusively with pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex health needs, is hosting a special one day conference for specialists working with children and young people with PMLD.

The event called ‘Profound Education: a day conference centred on pupils with PMLD’, is being held on 24th October 2009 from 9.30am to 3.30pm, at the School’s grounds in Tadworth, Surrey. It will interest Teachers, Learning Support Assistants, Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Portage workers in the PMLD field.

Chaired by Flo Longhorn, a renowned international speaker and author of many books on multi-sensory approaches to learning, the event will also feature a keynote speech from Dr Steve Cochran from the Department for Children, Schools and Families about National Strategies on Progression Guidance.

Clinical specialists from St Margaret’s School will also present on rebound therapy and joint working between therapy disciplines.

The afternoon will feature workshops on Rett syndrome, sensory integration, hashing and music therapy.

The cost per delegate is £95 including lunch.
