A special charity evening, featuring sculptor Guy Portelli’s collection - Heart Throb: The Golden Age of the Pop Icon – will be held at the Mall Galleries, London on Thursday, 2nd July from 6.30 pm – 9.00 pm, in aid of The Children’s Trust. Advanced tickets for this VIP event, which will include a cocktail reception and live music, are now available to book at just £35.

The collection of 18 iconic sculptures will feature some of the most prolific musical artists of our time, from Frank Sinatra – the first Heart Throb – to Amy Winehouse, plus Elton John, Miles Davis, John Lennon, John Lee Hooker, The Who, Sade, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Grace Jones, Bob Marley, Madonna, Bono, The Spice Girls, and Tupac Shakur.

Guy Portelli’s Pop Icons collection gained national acclaim last year, when the sculptor appeared on BBC’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ and successfully secured funding to exhibit his work in London.

Guy Portelli, who will be at the charity event to talk about his work, said:

“I hope pop enthusiasts and contemporary art lovers will come along to the event, where they can enjoy viewing my collection which celebrates 60 years of the music industry. Some surprise celebrity guests will be attending the evening which will also include a silent auction and a special icons raffle with some fantastic prizes, so please book your tickets now and help raise money for a very worthy cause.”

The exhibition will also include images from photographers Terry O’Neill, Albert Watson and Kevin Westenberg, with artwork from, amongst others, Sir Peter Blake RA, John Lennon and Miles Davies.
